Where I'm From Poem
I am from peanut butter,
From Jif and Skippy
I am from the small laid back apartment
(blan, red, it
sounds of loud sirens)
I am from the oak tree,
The willow tree which is
little and skinny like me
I’m from the Tuesday movie nights
and the bougie family
From Rasha and Cameron
and Maria
I’m from the rowdy and
goofy family
From the don’t ask for nothing don’t touch nothing and
be a leader not a follower
I’m from God, going to church on Sundays
I’m from Seattle, Washington,
peanut butter and wings
From the argument in the salon about money
the cousins hiding from a whooping
Above the dresser
I am from the place where its cold even on a sunny day
